Personal Bio

So I am originally from China, did my bachelor and master degree in China. All the major were related to animals. My major as an undergraduate is veterinary medicine, then changed to animal virus. Then I went to UK to do my PhD, working on human virus. Later I joined Princeton University in 2022, working on flavivirus. One adjective that describe me is easy-going. I love the beautiful campus of Princeton and the scenery, especially in Autumn. Doing experiments is fine, learning the skills to deal with RNA, DNA and proteins, specifically virus can help you gain knowledge about how this small particle has the ability to infect millions of people.

Fun Fact

I like playing billizards, and my favourite celebrity is the Chinese hero Bruce Lee.

Research Pitch

I am working on Molecular biology, microbiology, specifically virus research. My key terms is flavivirus replication. When trying to explain this, think about pandemic of COVID-19, small particles has such ability to threat human lives, killing tens of millions of people, therefore understanding how virus infect humans is really important for our health and society. Currently flaviviruses pose threats across the world, some reports show host factors about Zika virus infection and Dengue virus infection, yet little is known about yellow fever virus. I am trying to fill the gap in this case, I used a method call RNA protein affinity purification and proximity labeling to identify host factors required for YFV replication.
